Live At The Hemlock by David Dondero

This CD was sent to me by Future Farmer records and is notable for the inter-song chat that is very entertaining with stories and references to Craig the drummer. David Dondero plays 'skinny indie white boy blues'. There are times when it's like a Jonathan Richman without a modern lover. It certainly sounds like a good night's entertainment with wordy songs from the folksong tradition. Political songs are everywhere with Pre-Invasion Jitters about the first Gulf War and Chainsaw Preacher exposing a particular approach to religion. He sounds like the sort of person you'd want to spend a night drinking with.
