How People Arrive At This Blog
I have simple stats for the blog that just give me details of the last 50 visits. I quite often wander through these stats to see where people are coming from (other blogs/search engines). I think I can spot quite a few visits from bands to see if I have mentioned them but sometimes strangers do come here and I get to see the search strings they have typed in.
One recurrent search is Predict A Riot Cheshire Chord Choir for people who want to know more about the slightly surreal version of the Kaiser Chiefs song. But why was somebody searching for Times Winged Chariot? The only sensible reason would be to find which poem it alluded to and I didn't mention that. It was of course Marvell's To His Coy Mistress and also includes the line "then worms shall try That long preserv'd virginity," By the way, that doesn't work as a chat up line.
Sometimes searches actually could be possible new names for this blog in case I want to end this confusion over Cool Noise and A Cool Noise. Two nice ones recently were Noise That Pigs Make and one which sums up my whole musical credo: Depressing Alternative Music.
But maybe I should go for something really catchy to get me noticed - one person was on page 8 of the MSN search when he clicked through to this site. The search: Goth Girl Tits - has a certain ring to it, doesn't it?
