Karma Pilot, Sub-Rosa, and GunsLikeGirls

I just got these CDs today so here are my very early impressions:

A New Career by Karma Pilot

The very talented Daniel Vincent's latest incarnation. More direct than Onion Jack perhaps? There's a musical intelligence happening here in the same way that Sparklehorse had.

Karma Pilot

Tea For A Viper EP by Sub-Rosa

A Leicester band who have guitars and know how to use them. It reminds me of the This Et Al demos I got a couple of years ago and I can't say better than that.

Sub Rosa

The Octopus In The Igloo by GunsLikeGirls

Very American, and a very good mix of melodic and hardcore. Screaming alternating with singing over energetic songs is a very potent mix

GunsLikeGirls

Thanks Dave, This et al our awesome! Are you planning on putting a review on the main site?

Hi

Strangely enough, you will get much better exposure with a good post in this blog rather than the main site (it always features much higher in Google). But you will get a review of some sort in one or the other.

Hey Dave, really looking forward to reading the review. We don't mind where it goes, we're just desperate to gather some press together so we can target some 'bigger' out of town gigs. Thanks again.
